Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Stansberry offers a full array of cosmetic dental procedures to address any part of your smile you are unhappy with.  Cosmetic dentistry can be as simple as making custom whitening trays to brighten your smile or clear braces (Invisalign) to straighten crooked teeth.  Dr. Stansberry can also advise you on treatments such as porcelain veneers and composite bonding.   If you are interested in improving your health and the overall appearance of your smile, Dr. Stansberry is happy to sit down and discuss all treatment options available to you.

Teeth Whitening

If you would like a brighter and whiter smile, then custom bleaching trays are for you.  Dr. Stansberry and his team can fabricate custom whitening trays for prescription strength whitening gel to give you quick results with less sensitivity than other types of whitening.  Whitening your teeth is one of the easiest and most conservative ways to give yourself the smile you have always wanted.  When it comes to whitening your teeth, Dr. Stansberry is your best resource in Plano, Texas.

PerioSciences - Antioxidant Oral Care

PerioSciences has developed the market's first oral care line of products based on the power of antioxidants.  The family of OA Pro products utilize novel combinations of specific antioxidants to create the optimum oral care system:  OA ProVantage Gel, OA ProRinse, and OA Pro Toothpaste.  Ask Dr. Todd Stansberry how PerioSciences can refine your oral health!

Clear Braces (Invisalign)

Invisalign (Clear Braces) takes a high tech approach to straightening teeth using a series of custom aligners.  These aligners are virtually invisible plastic that gently shift your teeth into their new desired alignment.   There are many benefits to straight teeth including, easier daily oral hygiene, decreased gingivitis and tooth decay, decreased tooth wear, and improved confidence in your smile.  Be sure to ask Dr. Stansberry for a free Invisalign consultation if you are interested in straightening crooked teeth.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic covers for the visible surface of a tooth.  Veneers may be needed in some instances to achieve desired changes in tooth color, shape, and size. Typically, the fabrication of veneers can be accomplished in two visits and in approximately three weeks your smile can be transformed.  A consultation appointment with Dr. Stansberry is usually required to discuss and plan your desired smile cosmetics.

Bonding

Bonding is a process in which an enamel-like material (composite) is applied to a tooth, sculpted to a perfect form, hardened, and then polished to achieve an ideal smile.  Bonding is often done to repair chipped or fractured teeth, to correct misalignment, and close gaps between teeth.  Bonding is typically completed in just one visit to our Dr. Stansberry dental office in Plano, TX.

Implant Dentistry

Dental implants are used to replace damaged or lost teeth.  A titanium tooth root is inserted into the bone and once healed is restored with a dental crown returning the area to function.  Implant dentistry is an exciting area because of its great benefits and high success rate.  Dr. Stansberry works closely with local periodontists and oral surgeons to ensure that you get the highest level of care and best possible results.   Make an appointment with Dr. Stansberry to discuss the many benefits of implant dentistry and learn if a dental implant is an option for restoring your missing tooth.

Tooth Colored Fillings (Composite)

Composite fillings replace tooth structure that has been compromised by decay, wear, or erosion.  Tooth colored fillings are a very esthetic alternative to traditional metal (amalgam) fillings.   When detected early enough cavities can be treated and teeth restored to their natural beauty painlessly.  If left untreated cavities can lead to tooth pain and infection, which can necessitate the need for additional costly procedures.

Crowns

Crowns or “caps” are restorations that fit over the top of a tooth to provide support for weakened tooth structure.   Crowns are typically required for teeth that need extra strength to prevent breakage.  The jaw muscles are capable of creating tremendous force and overtime this force can take a toll on large restorations and teeth located near the back of your mouth.    Reasons for a tooth to need a crown include but are not limited to cracks, decay (cavities), root canal therapy, and insufficient tooth structure to retain filling material.

Bridges

Bridges are one option for replacing a space created by a missing tooth.  A bridge is fabricated by preparing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth for crowns.  These teeth will support the replacement tooth in between.  Bridges are cemented in place and are not removable, which makes them preferable to partial dentures in many cases.  Replacing a missing tooth can prevent teeth from shifting, tipping, and collapsing of the dental arch.  Dr. Stansberry will review treatment options for missing teeth and make recommendations based on your needs and desired outcome.

Partial Dentures and Full Dentures

If you are in need of a new denture, want to have your old denture re-fit, or considering dentures for the first time come see Dr. Stansberry.  Our dental practice in Plano, TX can provide you with beautiful great fitting dentures.

Sealants

Sealants are protective resin coverings used to seal decay out of the deep narrow grooves on the top of back teeth.  Sealants are an important part of preventing decay during adolescents, when tooth decay rates are the highest.  Ask Dr. Stansberry’s team to educate you on services and daily habits that can prevent tooth decay.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy (also referred to as endodontic therapy) is necessary when the nerve of a tooth becomes infected or inflamed.  Deep cavities, old failing restorations, trauma, and cracks are just some of the causes that can potentially lead to root canals.  If you are having pain or sensitivity please schedule an appointment to have Dr. Stansberry evaluate your symptoms and problematic tooth.

Gum Treatments for Periodontal Disease

The gums, ligaments, and bone around the teeth form the foundation of your oral health.   Signs of gum disease include:  gums that are red and bleed easily, persistent bad breath, loose teeth, and changes in the position of teeth.   If you have noticed any of these please make an appointment for Dr. Stansberry to complete a thorough exam.  With proper hygiene and professional treatment the gums can be returned to health.  Advanced stages of gum disease can require surgery and or tooth extractions so don’t wait.
